Filter media replacement for softeners, sand, carbon and iron filters

Media wears out. Softener resin stops softening, sand filters pass dirt, carbon stops taking out chlorine and smell, and iron media lets iron through. We empty the vessel, check the distributor and laterals, refill fresh media in graded layers, backwash, rinse and test the outlet. For homes, apartments, factories and RO plant pre-treatment, on any brand of vessel.

  • Any brand of vessel and valve
  • Itemised quote by kg of each media
  • Old media removed and the vessel cleaned
  • Outlet tested before we leave
  • GST invoice, delivery challan and e-way bill for business sites
  • Mangaluru and Bengaluru teams

Replace the media, keep the vessel. If the FRP vessel and valve are sound, fresh media brings the filter back for a fraction of a new unit.

Step 1: Find your problem

Is your media worn out?

Each filter tells you in its own way. If you see one of these after a proper backwash or regeneration, the media is the likely cause.

Softener: hard water soon after regeneration

Scale returns, soap does not lather, salt use goes up.

Resin replacementFresh softener resin

Sand filter: dirty water or choking cartridges

Muddy water passes, or the cartridges after it choke in days.

Sand and gravelGraded layers refilled

Carbon filter: smell or chlorine gets through

Chlorine smell, odour or colour after the carbon.

Activated carbonFresh coconut shell carbon

Iron remover: yellow water is back

Iron comes through even after a backwash.

Send us the vessel size and a photo

The sticker on the vessel (for example 1054, 1354 or 2162) and a photo of the valve tell us most of what we need to quote.

Step 2: What we replace

The media we carry

Filter sand and graded gravel

Rough sand and graded silica gravel as the support bed, with filter sand above.

CARBON FILTERS

Activated carbon

Coconut shell activated carbon for chlorine, odour and organic matter.

Step 3: How a job runs

From inspection to tested water.

We recently replaced the softener and sand filter media at a food factory in Dakshina Kannada, with the media itemised on the invoice and an e-way bill for the delivery. Every job follows the same steps.

What to have ready

  • Vessel size and valve typeFrom the sticker on the vessel, or a photo.
  • What the water is used forDrinking, process, boiler, softener feed.
  • A drain and the bypassSo the site keeps water while we work.
  • Purchase order details (business sites)GSTIN, billing address, delivery address.

What our technicians do

  1. Inspect the vessel, valve, distributor and laterals.
  2. Quote by kg of each media, itemised.
  3. Empty the old media and clean the vessel.
  4. Refill in graded layers: gravel at the bottom, working media above, with space left for the bed to lift in backwash.
  5. Backwash and rinse until the water runs clear.
  6. Test the outlet water and hand over.
Good to know

Grains coming out of the taps usually mean a broken lateral or distributor at the bottom of the vessel. We check both every time a vessel is open.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I know the media needs replacing?

If the problem comes back right after a proper backwash or regeneration: hard water from a softener, dirty water from a sand filter, smell after a carbon filter, or yellow water after an iron remover.

Can you replace media in a vessel from another brand?

Yes. Media replacement works on any brand, as long as the FRP vessel and the valve are in good condition. We check both first.

How is the price worked out?

By the kg of each media your vessel takes, plus labour. The quote lists every media line separately.

Will we be without water during the job?

The vessel is bypassed while we work, so water keeps flowing untreated for those hours.

Do you provide paperwork for companies?

Yes: a GST invoice from Puryn International with the media itemised, a delivery challan and an e-way bill where the delivery needs one.

How often does media need replacing?

It depends on the water and the use, so we go by the signs and the outlet test rather than a fixed date.

How does the lab test work?

You get two lab reports: a pre-treatment report before we recommend anything and a post-treatment report after installation. Both, worth ₹2,000, are included in the price of your system. You pay ₹1,000 when we take the first sample, and it is adjusted when you order. For example, on a ₹65,000 system you pay the remaining ₹64,000.

Filter not doing its job?

Send us a photo of the vessel. We quote the media and do the job on site.
